SPOT CHECK SECURITY?
Why Not? You Double Check Everything Else!
This is a blatant Misuse of Trust. The event management assumes that you have “X”  number of guards on duty,  but
do you? Are the guards that you have contracted licensed and properly trained to handle the situations which might
arise during your event?
Wouldn’t it be good knowing that the security for which has been contracted is still around after you go home and that
if the event management is not being provided with the security services as contracted for, INVESEC will be there to
identify, record and report them.
INVESEC offers your event management company something every event co-ordinator and manager needs and is a
must have – INVESECS’ SPIT CHECK Program!
INVESEC will verify and if requested physically check that all guards hired are licensed,  ascertaining upon our
clients request, if  those hired to supply security services for the function carry  additional necessary licences /
training including First Aid, Smart Serve, WHMIS etc. INVESEC will also verify that security personnel are on post
and all posts are covered for the full time security services have been contracted.
INVESEC will check over your security schedule to verify all necessary posts are covered and are necessary during
the times requested. As you are aware most rental facilities and their floor plans are available on the internet.
INVESEC has discovered that some security companies who have been hired by event management teams have
taken advantage of the lack of supervision by event staff who are not familiar with security operations and the
security company’s role and are busy with other management matters presenting the opportunity for security
breaches and failures – at the event management’s expense.
These security breaches and failures allow the security company which has been contracted by the event
management team to do as they please and if  the contracted security company is not making enough profit or want
to make more. Some examples of ways in which this can be done are:
- cut security staff;
- security staff will be cut before the shift is finished or security staff will come and go as they please not
performing the duties for which they are being paid.
Some security companies even have fewer security staff on-site then paid for by the event management.
Other security companies have been found to use staff that is not licensed, calling them ticket takers or hostesses
rather then using licensed guards as per the event contract.
Let INVESEC help you to make sure that you are getting the security services that you are paying for, and if you are
not, we will present you with a report of our finding that you can use when discussing the breaches and failures when
renegotiating your bill.
